Video: Bay Area Black Deaf Advocates Founded

On April 14th, the Black Deaf Community converged upon The Buttercup Grill in Oakland to vote for its newly elected officials.

Brenda Lyons was born and raised in Oakland and is twin to a Deaf sister. She is the Hearing half and comes from a family of four. She has worked as an Interpreter, DVR assistant, ASL teacher, and is a life-long advocate. She currently serves as CEO of CUPE'D (Cultivating Unity Pride and Empowerment of the Deaf).
